For the first time, Fabrice Debarge and Elodie Moog from Praxinos will show ILIAD, a plugin with a powerful paint engine to make stunning drawings and textures in Unreal Engine 4, to be released in late summer 2019. The talk will include various topics such as "How to make nodal brushes" and "How to use your paintings as a material."
You’ll also get a sneak peek at Praxinos' most ambitious project to date: a 2D animation package within a real-time environment powered by Unreal Engine 4, slated for release in 2020.

Piranha Bar
12 PM and 2 PM Wednesday, Thursday, and FridayDublin-based Piranha Bar will showcase their unique pipeline for real-time performance capture of stylized characters with Unreal Engine. With this pipeline, Piranha Bar has been able to work with writers and production partners around the world to quickly prototype shows and productions by facilitating pre-production project setup and planning, real-time previs on set, rapid prototyping, in-engine post processing, lighting, cameras, and rendering. Join Nicky Gogan and Gavin Kelly from Piranha Bar for a fascinating look into this innovative virtual production pipeline, powered by Unreal Engine.

Demos in the booth
We’ll also be running a number of demos produced with Unreal Engine alongside the presentations.Troll, a short film that takes place in a misty forest full of fairies, showcases real-time ray tracing and unprecedented levels of cinematic-quality lighting in a real-time short.

And we also have the cinematic trailer for the Epic game Fortnite, which was created entirely in UE4 with real-time character animation and special effects. Check out this in-house result of a virtual production pipeline utilizing real-time mocap, complex facial rigs, and custom fog sculpted in real time in VR.
Praxinos will give the MIFA audience a chance to get hands-on with ILIAD, the powerful paint engine plug-in that allows stunning drawings and textures to be created in Unreal Engine 4.
And after learning about how The Boy was created, you’ll be able to spend some time speaking with David and Philippe, and getting an inside look at all the techniques that were used to create this stunning demo.
So stop by and see us at MIFA in booth 6.001. We’re looking forward to saying hello!
