Epic Games, the award-winning developer known for the Unreal series of games, Gears of War, and the Unreal Engine, is searching for a talented animator with a great understand of the fundamental s of animation and how they relate to game animation.   The animator will implement animations in the Unreal 4 editor using our animation blueprint system.
Qualifications

  • Animation reel showing keyframed character and creature animations
  • Strong experience with Maya and gameplay systems
  • Good instincts for realistic and stylized motions
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Must have at least one shipped game title

Preference to applicants with

  • Familiarity with the Unreal Engine 4 art pipeline
  • Related skills, such as modeling, skinning, rigging
  • Experience working with mocap data
  • Knowledge of what is current in video games

Epic Games, the award-winning developer known for the Unreal series of games, Gears of War, and the Unreal Engine, is searching for a talented Character Artist to work on our current and upcoming games.  If you think you’ve got something exciting to bring to character creation in games, and want a chance to prove it, give us a shout.

Responsibilities

  • Create characters, enemies, and weapons based on concept art or reference photos
  • Collaborate with the art director and concept artists to set the visual style and quality bar
  • Ability to build clean highly animate-able topology
  • Ability to give and receive feedback with concept artists and character modelers
  • Be forward thinking and have the ability to help the team refine our technical pipelines so we can continue to push the boundaries of real-time character performance

Qualifications

  • Ability to create believable characters that are full of life and personality
  • Ability to create high-poly and low-poly models as well as textures
  • Intimate knowledge of human anatomy and form
  • The ability to adapt to and innovate new styles and techniques
  • Strong organic modeling skills (human faces, clothing, believable creatures)
  • Strong hard-surface modeling skills (armor, weapons)
  • Knowledge of major 3D software packages (Maya, Max, or Modo, and ZBrush)
  • Shipped game title experience

Preference to applicants with:

  • Experience with outsourcing
  • Experience managing content and developing pipelines
  • Experience painting textures in Photoshop, from hand or based on texture reference
  • Experience tuning (or creating) surface shaders for real-time rendered characters

Overview
Would you like to work with a team that consistently ships innovative and multi-million unit selling games? Would you like to help define the visual style of our latest project?  If you answered yes to either of those questions then we would like to talk with you about joining our new team in Shanghai, China where everything we do is Epic!
Epic Games is looking for a Concept Artist to join our team working on various projects in development.  In this role you will work directly with the design department to create and quickly iterate on clean, purposeful shapes that look amazing.  You should have a combination of strong creative/visual aesthetics, excellent design skills, and a clear rendering style in designing both characters and environments.  You should be able to demonstrate that you can think outside the box and translate an awesome gameplay experience into an awesome visual experience as well as have experience creating photo realistic concept content.      

Qualifications

  • Experience designing slick, detailed, modern, forward looking characters
  • A mind for technical function and aesthetic pursuit with an ability to balance creativity with function
  • Ability to work within gameplay design restraints (environment scale, character abilities, prototype function, etc.) and translate those restrictions into visuals that enhance the experience
  • Experience creating mechanical designs
  • Ability to prototype in 3D, work directly with the 3D artists, and knowledge of 3D software
  • Strong traditional drawing skills and knowledge of the human anatomy
  • Strong understanding of color theory and how color affects mood & focal points
  • Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills

  • Experience with the Unreal Engine

We are looking for a FX Artist to join our team working on the next big title for Epic Games.  A successful candidate should have a strong sense of dramatic effects and an understanding of how to recreate them in a particle editor.  They will be first and foremost a team player, while also having the ability to be self-motivated and work autonomously. If you have a strong sense of weight, timing, and motion and are ready to bring that ability to execute outstanding FX to our games then we would like to hear from you.  

Qualifications

  • Must have a strong reel/portfolio showing executed game FX work
  • Ability to bring dramatic effects to life with flair
  • A critical eye for the timing, animation, and motion of real world objects and visual FX
  • Ability to create all art needed for the visual effects
  • Abilities in a secondary areas such as modeling, skinning, animation, or lighting
  • Desire and knowledge of how to push our effects and editing tools further
  • Shipped titles within the game industry

Preference to applicants with

  • Familiarity with the Unreal 4 Engine art pipeline

职位五:IT系统工程师
Overview

Would you like access to be part of building and supporting the internal IT infrastructure for new regional offices within China (Shanghai and Suzhou)?  Support a team that consistently ships multi-million unit-selling games? Epic Games, the award-winning developer known for the Unreal series of games, Gears of War, and the Unreal Engine, is searching for an IT Systems Engineer. The person in this role will be the person on the ground helping to set up and build out the entire technology infrastructure for Epic Games China.  You’ll work closely with our US Headquarters to get multiple offices in China up and running and maintain those systems to enable engineer’s and artists to have the tools they need to be effective and communicate with locations world wide. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator (written and verbal English and Mandarin skills), will have a user-focused mentality, be able to work independently and be passionate about technology.  If you think you’re up for joining a growing company and handling things from individual level support to implementing solutions affecting an entire team or site, then get in touch!

Responsibilities:

  • Support the entire lifecycle of technology implementations, from identifying and designing solutions for business requirements, to implementing those solutions and maintaining them through their lifecycle
  • Ensure all incidents are resolved in a timely manner
  • Monitor and audit health of infrastructure, and be available to solve issues as they happen. This could include participation in an on-call support rotation
  • Proactively monitor and support software, desktop hardware, server and networking issues
  • Responsible for local hardware setups and software support for new hires, visitors and contractors
  • Travel to remote sites for proactive and preventive maintenance visits
  • Technical support for company events, shows and conventions
  • Report on health of local help desk and support using uptime and ticket-related performance metrics
  • Develop business support standards, processes and procedures, and guidelines for incident management

Qualifications:

  • Experience with setup, configuration, and management of network devices including switching, routing, and firewalls
  • Scripting experience, and extensive CLI experience on Windows and Linux
  • Active Directory (DNS, DHCP, GPOs, regionally-distributed architectures)
  • Enterprise patch management for servers and workstations
  • Automation of Windows and Mac OS imaging and application package deployment
  • Supporting distributed video conferencing and collaboration technologies
  • Experience supporting IT in a globally distributed enterprise

Preference to candidates with:

  • Project management experience
  • Experience supporting Google Apps

You’ll assist with travel set up, coordinating meetings, set up and management of events in the region, general office administrative tasks and some minor HR tasks.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in an office operations role where you have had experience in Human Resources, Recruiting, Office Management/Administration, Project Management and/or Facilities Management
  • Highly skilled with Google Applications or MS Office Suite

Epic Games is searching for an experienced Technical Artist. You should have a combination of strong creative/visual aesthetics and technical knowledge as the job is roughly a 50/50 split in these areas.  You should also be experienced in every aspect of the content creation pipeline, as well as be able to think outside the box to come up with techniques that work better or faster. Your goal will be to attack the more complex issues, and to help the other artists with technical hurdles they might be having.

Responsibilities

  • Material creation - Making materials for characters, environment assets, effects etc, anything that is overly complex or technical
  • Level Work - Often times the Technical Artist does a pass on a level where fog, lighting, color grading and fx are tweaked and new features are added
  • Optimization - Use diagnostic tools to examine current content and identify areas for improvement
  • Tool development  - Work with programmers on developing new features and mock up features in external programs or tweak shader code, give feedback to programmers, and experiment with features as they add them
  • Content creation - Sometimes new art assets are required to get the job done, modeling and texturing is helpful

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience working with Unreal Engine
  • Strong scripting and plug-in writing skills with 3DSMax/Maya plus Python or C++
  • Advanced 3DSMax or Maya experience
  • Experience with various software packages including Photoshop, Zbrush/Mudbox
  • Max Scripting and HLSL or shader programming experience is a plus
