De Shera D'Spain

Heading to Autodesk University later this month? Don’t forget to join the Unreal Engine team in exploring the future of design!

The Enterprise Team will be at booth A211 showcasing how Datasmith helps you experience design. Whether you want to catch insightful industry speaker presentations, see a demo, or book an appointment to chat with the development team, there’s a broad range of activities happening both before the convention and at the Unreal Engine booth at AU 2017.

Before the Convention

Early birds are encouraged to register for the Epic Conversations Event (Monday, November 13th at 1923 Bourbon Bar), an evening of networking, cocktails, and guest speakers on how real-time technology is transforming the design experience. Panelists will include representatives from HOK, Soluis and Steelcase. If you’re in town early, you won’t want to miss this!

At the Unreal Engine Booth

A lot of exciting things are planned for the Unreal Engine booth (A211) throughout the convention. Here’s a quick look at what to expect:

Demos - Chris Murray, Unreal Engine Technical Marketing Manager, will explore real-time engine solutions for workflows including a brand-new look at Datasmith, a workflow toolbox that enables Unreal Engine users to easily import and manipulate data from multiple CAD/DCC sources.

Customer Speaker Presentations - Hear from actual Datasmith customers on how the new workflow is positively impacting their real-time design experience across numerous industries. Speakers from HNTB, Soluis, Twin Motion and Agile Lens will be presenting at our booth on a wide range of interesting topics related to Datasmith and design visualization.

AR Experience - Make it Unreal: Motorcycle fans rejoice! Stop by booth A211 to inspect a 1937 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and watch it transform from a “barn-find” to showroom quality through an immersive augmented reality experience.

VR Room - Experience Design: A variety of VR experiences will be on-hand in the VR room. Explore the world’s most famous military aircraft, be transported through a wind tunnel in a McLaren 720S and design a virtual hotel room in real-time.

Sales Meeting Room - The Enterprise Team will also have a dedicated meeting room for customers interested in a more in-depth conversation. To book a meeting contact: Craig Laliberte, Business Development, Unreal Engine Enterprise Team ([email protected]).

Industry Talks During the Convention

In addition to the demos and other activities at the booth, here are a handful of excellent industry talks happening around the convention to put on your radar.

Chris Murray will be giving two classroom workshops at different times and locations during the convention:

  1. Thinking Like a Game Developer: What I Had to Forget and Relearn to Use a Game Engine (Tuesday, November 14, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM)
  2. Modern Tools for Efficiently Moving CAD Data into a Game Engine (Thursday, November 16, 2:15 PM - 3:15 PM)
Alex Coulombe, Creative Director at Agile Lens will also be giving a talk you won’t want to miss! From First Line to Final Design: VR as the Ultimate Creative Medium (Wednesday, November 15, 9:15 AM - 10:15 AM)

It’s going to be a thrilling week! Be sure to find out more details and register here. Hope to see you there!
