Take Part in the Unreal Engine Dance Animation Challenge

Got some moves you’ve been itching to bust out? Now’s your chance with the Unreal Engine Animation Challenge, coming June 4–27 on ArtStation! 
 

The challenge

In this challenge, you’ll create a 10-second dance animation with Unreal Engine 5.6, working with the provided track and scene Your grooving character can be our beloved Manny or Quinn, or any character you have the rights to use. We will provide a music track and an Unreal Engine scene, both of which must be used for the challenge.

As you work on your project, post about your progress and get feedback on your animation, as well as your shot management, rigging, and lighting. And save those work-in-progress screenshots—you’ll submit those as part of your entry, along with your finished animation.

Who can enter?

The Unreal Engine Animation Challenge is for animators of all skill levels, from students and beginners to indie creators and professional animators. No matter where you’re at, the Unreal Engine Dance Animation Challenge is a great opportunity to learn your way around the new UE5.6 animation tools and make something new for your portfolio.
 

When is the challenge?

The Unreal Engine Animation Challenge runs June 4–27, 2025. Registration is open now, so you can grab the music and scene, and start busting out those moves.

The challenge closes on June 27, and winners will be announced on August 4.

Entries will be judged on overall animation quality, originality in choreography, level of synchronization with music track, and effective use of UE tools.
