Check out the associated course "Build a Virtual Rube Goldberg Machine in Unreal Engine" on the Epic Dev Community.
This project is designed to teach new users the basics of Unreal Engine in an engaging and memorable way. It utilizes the concept of a Rube Goldberg machine, a contraption made up of a series of interconnected components that work together to perform a simple task. It creates a learning experience that is engaging and memorable by fostering a playful and creative approach that emphasizes experimentation and problem-solving.
As users progress through the project they will learn many transferable skills such as how to move, scale, rotate objects, and how to navigate within a 3D world. These skills are paramount to careers in virtual production, video game design, architecture, simulation, product design, fashion, animation, movies, commercials, broadcast, E-Sports, CAD, medical solutions, 3D printing, and many more.
By playing with built-in features such as the Chaos fracture system, physics simulation, Niagara, Metasounds, Modeling tools, and materials, users will walk away with assets that can be used outside this project and outside of Unreal Engine.
