Create a web-based user interface with blueprints.
The WebUI plugin allows developers to create rich web-based user interfaces with blueprints. It's powered by the web browser built into UE4 and includes support for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and iOS (4.21+). This plugin also has a robust JSON library that provides integrated management of objects, arrays, and primitive data types. It comes with an example project that demonstrates a startup map with a volume slider and FPS counter.
Number of Blueprints: 2
Number of C++ Classes: 5
Network Replicated: No
Supported Development Platforms: Win64, Mac, Linux
Supported Target Build Platforms: Win64, Win32, Mac, Linux, Android
Example Project: http://cdn.tracerinteractive.com/webui/example.zip
Important/Additional Notes: This plugin has no third-party dependencies because it uses the web browser built into the engine. It includes multiplayer support by removing the browser in dedicated server builds without changing any blueprint classes. There's also support for Android (4.19+) and iOS (4.21+) using the native mobile browsers.
In a future release the Windows, Mac, and Linux versions of this plugin will be updated to the WebKit layout engine. This will dramatically improve performance by allowing the FPS of the web browser to be in sync with the FPS of the game. It would also provide the opportunity for future support on console platforms.
