This is a small set of optimized and scalable assets to be used for a desert environment.

An environment set inspired by the Painted Desert in Arizona, it falls somewhere between realistic and stylized. The assets are designed to be used in a variety of ways, with performance at the forefront. Desert props include Prickly Pear Cactus, Sage, Wheatgrass, Boulders, Sandstone rubble and a whole lot more!

Technical Details


  •  Landscape Material which adjusts color based on world height (to represent sedimentary stratification) as well as paintable Landscape layers and automatic texel-density adjustment based on camera distance to mitigate tiling patterns.
  • Rock Materials which contain shader information that spreads dust over the tops of static meshes (this is adjustable).
  • Robust Material Instances for on-the-fly tweaks.
  • 4 paintable Landscape layers.
  • 7 Rock Types (including 1 scree for building up volumes).
  • 7 Plant Types for foliage painting.
  • 1 Path mesh intended to be used as a Landscape spline.
  • 1 Light Function.
  • Daytime and Nighttime Examples with Dynamic Lighting
