    This product contains a code plugin, complete with pre-built binaries and all its source code that integrates with Unreal Engine, which can be installed to an engine version of your choice then enabled on a per-project basis.

ML Deformer in UE5 allow users to approximate a complex rig, non-linear deformers or any arbitrary deformation by training a Machine Learning model that runs in real-time in UE.

Our approach:  

  • Leverages Machine Learning using UE5 Neural Network Inference (NNI) system.
  • Training process using a Maya plug-in automatically generates a range-of-motion with random poses that will guarantee the full deformation space is covered and export FBX and Alembic caches for import in UE.
  • Can approximate world-space or skinning relative deformations

  • Python plugin UI for Maya that generates and exports training data for UE ML Deformer.

How to install:

  • Marketplace will download to <UE5 install location>\Engine\Plugins\Marketplace\MayaMLDeformer\Content
  • Extract to your maya/modules folder: 

Windows: C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Maya\modules

Linux: ~/maya/modules

Mac OS X: ~/maya/modules

  • Restart Maya. You should now have a MLDeformer menu in Maya.
