A realistic retro style kitchen including many interactive elements such as a gas cooker, refrigerator, mixer, radio and curtains. A basic version of an original camera system known as “Realiview” is also included, which simulates head AND eye movement.

This realistic 40s/50s retro style kitchen, includes interactive appliances by the fictitious company "Electro". Interactive elements include:


  • Gas burners require gas dial and ignition interaction to ignite
  • Gas burner and igniter sounds
  • Top panel and oven lighting
  • Oven towel rail, oven shelves, internal and lower drawer
  • Interactive timer synced to world time

The environment is complete with a day and night cycle synced with the clock on the cooker.

Technical Details

  • In general, the mouse wheel or game pad triggers are used for analogue interaction and the left mouse button or face button bottom are use for digital interactions.
  •  Controllable parameters in material instances, allow quick changes to the general look of the walls, flooring, cabinets and glass etc.
  • The radio stations can be easily set with the radio's sound cue public variables.
  • Realiview - The two main elements to this camera system that will be immediately apparently different to a standard 1st person camera, are continuous object tracking and simulated transitional eye and head movement. If no user look movement is detected (mouse movement or right thumbstick), the "eye" will track the last object's surface and the "head" will translate the location of the eye however the eye will still track the same location until there is look input. This may initially seem quite distracting since it is non-standard however I highly recommend experimenting with its potential advantages in terms of both immersion and gameplay.
