WSP has developed the ADT Link for Unreal Engine plugin to unlock the Microsoft Azure Digital Twin (ADT) ecosystem in Unreal Engine.


A digital twin is a 3D model of a physical entity like a building or city, but with live, continuous data updating its functions and processes in real time, providing a means for analyzing and optimizing a structure. When live data from the physical system is fed to the digital replica, it moves and functions just like the real thing, giving you instant visual feedback on your processes.


With this plugin, combining both the power and sophistication of Microsoft's IoT solution, ADT, and the interactive experience creation of Unreal Engine, will allow users to create and build their own digital twins.


Azure’s DT solution not only contextualizes the incoming sensor data and allows a more intelligent integration with both data from other lines of business systems, but also how it corresponds to the 3D world. This ranges from tools to help you with the initial modeling of the data, a live execution environment for your twin graph, as well as the ability to integrate with external data sources to populate your digital twins. All of this is able to stream into your Unreal Digital Twins.
