This collection of powerful materials gives users full control over dozens of parameters which dictate the look of a vehicle’s surface. They offer fine control over individual paint layers, dynamic reflections, and performance scaling.
The collection includes two variations of three main material types: car paint, carbon fiber, and glass. The first set of materials utilize Unreal’s built in reflection tools, and are completely PBR safe. The second set of materials take advantage of dynamic cube maps which produce the best looking car paint surfaces possible in UE4.
With the help of a powerful color masking system, it is possible to add decals and multi-color paint schemes. Car paint materials also offer control over grunge and allows you to paint rust onto your vehicle’s surface using vertex colors.
This combination of tools enables any developer to produce high quality - next gen materials which are beautiful to look at far away and up close. The range of performance scalability make them an excellent choice for any platform.
The standard variations of the car paint and carbon fiber materials now include dual normals! It is now possible to spereate clear coat and flake normals, making the stanard materials look much more authentic, even up close!
