Automatic Buildings is an instancing blueprint, that creates a building out of modular meshes. The blueprint makes it easy to work with modular meshes, and at the same time drastically saves both time and draw calls compared to manually placing each mesh. It is useful both for prototyping and release.
You can drag & drop a blueprint template into the map, and then tweak the parameters to get the building size and style of your liking. Three types of roof are supported: Hipped, Gable & Flat. Placement of windows, doors, staircase & an extension to the main building is also possible. There is an option to place special front meshes which makes it easy to build an apartment building, a garage etc.
A wall building blueprint is included to make it easy and efficient to create the interior walls. Just drag & drop it into the building and change parameters.
27 Static meshes are included, based on a 3m x 3m x 20cm scale of the walls. It is possible to use the blueprint with your own static meshes with minimal tweaking. The meshes are meant to use “World aligned textures” to have perfect scale. The texture-UV is therefore UV-mapped to a single UV to make it easy to hand paint parts of the meshes. 15 Custom materials are included in the pack.
