Twinmotion Community Challenge #5: ‘Capture a winter wonderland experience’

With the holidays around the corner, we want to see your best real-time winter scenes. Enter the final Twinmotion Community Challenge of the year for a chance to win $500!

The holiday season is upon us, and what better way to celebrate than a festive Twinmotion Community Challenge?

For the last competition of the year, we want you to create a spectacular winter wonderland. This time around, it has to be all real-time—no Photoshop or post-production allowed! You’ll have to put Twinmotion through its paces and achieve the best results you can using just the in-application tools.

If you’ve got some downtime this holiday season, take part and see if you can swipe the Epic prizes that are up for grabs.

A cash prize of $500 will be awarded for the best real-time holiday scene. This time, you’ll need to create both an image and a screen-captured real-time walkthrough video, taken from Twinmotion.
We’re looking for you to put your own individual spin on this one. Your scene could be an atmospheric icy street scene from 1970s New York, or a chocolate box cottage set in snowy Normandy hills.

As usual, entries are to be submitted via social media, with the best showcased on Twinmotion’s own social media channels.

Check out the challenge details below and get your entry posted by the deadline!

Challenge #5: ‘Capture a winter wonderland experience’

Put your imagination and holiday spirit to the test by conjuring up your best winter wonderland.

Entries must include both an image and a real-time walkthrough video, screen-captured from within Twinmotion.

The deadline for entry is Monday, January 18, 2021 at 22:59 GMT, and the winning entry will receive a cash prize of $500 plus Epic Games swag. As it’s the holiday season, the top ten finalists will also receive Epic swag.

See below for important info on submission and rules.

Submissions

Your submission should be an image in at least 2K resolution created with Twinmotion 2020.1 or a higher version, as well as a video screen-captured from within Twinmotion that walks us through your wonderland that is at least 30 seconds and at most 90 seconds long. Entries created using the trial and education versions of the software will be accepted.

Photoshop and other post-production tools are not permitted for rendering the image on this challenge—use as many of Twinmotion’s in-built tools as you like to create your scene. For the screen-captured video, you can do basic editing to shorten or accelerate the footage, but you can’t add special effects or enhancements to change the quality.

Make your submissions by Monday, January 18, 2021 at 22:59 GMT through social media, with the hashtag #TwinmotionChallenge in the text.

There are several ways to enter:

  • Post the image and video in the Facebook Twinmotion Community Group
  • Post the entry on your Twitter or LinkedIn account with the tag @Twinmotion (one post for the image, one post for the video)
  • Post the image and video on your Instagram account with the tag @twinmotionofficial

Your entry can be posted with any one or more of the methods above. Just be sure to include #TwinmotionChallenge in the text!

Rules

Check out the official rules for this challenge; they vary slightly each time. However, there’s one important rule that’s the same for every challenge:

The items in your image cannot include any trademarked branding or logos. For example, if a laptop appears in your image, it cannot have a visible brand logo—you can still have the laptop in the scene, just not the logo. If your image includes a branded refrigerator, the refrigerator itself can stay in the scene, but the logo cannot appear in the image.

Unfortunately, we have to disqualify any image with such branding or logos from the competition. We don’t want this to happen to you, so be sure to strip out all logos and branding before posting your entry.

The rules for this challenge are also available in ArabicChineseFrenchGermanJapaneseKoreanPolishRussian, Spanish (EU) (LATAM), and Turkish.

We look forward to seeing your entries for this Twinmotion Community Challenge. If you don’t have Twinmotion yet, you can download it here
