Epic Games Enlists ReVuln to Augment Security Efforts

作成 Unreal Engine

November 4, 2013 – As Unreal Engine 4 becomes more widely adopted for the next generation of video games Epic Games is treating the security of players and the integrity of developers’ creations with the utmost care.

Beginning in June 2013, Epic and ReVuln have partnered to prevent malicious users from disrupting gameplay for people enjoying games built on top of Unreal Engine 4 technology. The benefits of the collaboration apply to Epic’s upcoming products and extend to developers using Unreal Engine 4.

“The ReVuln team has notable experience finding vulnerabilities in software such as, for example, ours,” said Epic founder and CEO Tim Sweeney. “We’re very pleased to be working with ReVuln now as partners to utilize their elite hacking skills to benefit the security of Epic’s games and engine technology.”

Since garnering international attention in late 2012, ReVuln has established itself as a premier provider of software security research and solutions. Co-founded and operated by Donato Ferrante and Luigi Auriemma, ReVuln provides security solutions to customers worldwide, but maintains a focused interest in the safety of online gaming and digital game distribution.

“ReVuln is certainly proud to be working with Epic Games,” said Auriemma. “They are pioneers and leaders in video game technology, and their investment in the security of Unreal Engine 4 shows true commitment to their customers.”

Ongoing work remains focused on the protection of customer data and services enabled through Unreal Engine technology to address the sophisticated needs of game developers and the gaming community.
