Epic Games celebrates Unreal Engine developers with dedicated game space at GDC

Unreal Engine adoption is growing fast, and our booth space is growing with it! Epic’s traditional location at #423 South will host technology, tools demos, and business meetings, and we’re excited to announce a dedicated space on the GDC expo floor just for games!

Come visit booth #801 South to play the latest and most anticipated Unreal Engine games, talk to the developers behind them (including Epic’s Fortnite team), pick up free swag, and enjoy free craft beer and limitless snacks. While you’re there, you can also connect with developers and recruiters looking to hire Unreal Engine talent.

SNAIL GAMES

Built from the ground up for VR, players begin their ARK Park adventure at a visitor center surrounded by life-sized holographic dinosaurs where they'll learn about these creatures that they’ve only read about and seen in books and summer blockbusters. From there, players will have the option to explore multiple interactive attractions on-foot or in vehicles and on Dino-back, including a swamp, forest, desert, snowy mountain range, and more. Each attraction features stunningly rendered and realistic environments of the period inhabited by ARK creatures, which can be found and captured through use of items, weapons, and puzzle-solving.

ARMORED WARFARE: ASSAULT

Optimized for mobile platforms, Armored Warfare: Assault places its own frantic twist on the traditional tank shooter genre, emphasizing on explosive front-line action and removing the need to wait for another battle. The respawn system ensures that tank treads never cool, allowing players to get right back into its frenzied vehicle warfare and engage their enemies head on.

ASHES OF CREATION

INTREPID STUDIOS

Ashes of Creation is a unique take on the MMO experience. Our world structure is dynamic and built to react to the actions of our players. Cities will rise and fall, their populations based on the history of the world as the players create it. Quests will unlock as these populations gather, their needs grow, and secrets are unlocked.

As the world’s NPC structure is established in real time, players will have the ability to destroy what they’ve created, paving the way for new development, new populations, and real change. Political strife and intrigue will play a very real role in the structure of your world.

Gone are the days of static worlds, change is here to stay.

ASTRONEER

SYSTEM ERA SOFTWORKS

The recent Basebuilding Update is Astroneer’s largest content drop to date. Whether underground, on a mountaintop, or on far away planets, the all new Basebuilding and Power systems will allow players to create efficient bases that are all their own. This update includes 20+ completely new pieces of art, including new platforms, modules, control panels, and items to print. Working underground? Set up a solar farm on the surface and use the new power extenders to pipe that energy down to where you need it most. Feel like you want to head to another planet? Print some base packages and load them on your shuttle to get yourself started on your new home quickly. This new update gives players a plethora of ways to get even more creative with Astroneer.

CONAN EXILES

Conan Exiles is an open-world survival game set in the brutal lands of Conan the Barbarian. Survive in a savage world, build your kingdom, and dominate your enemies in brutal combat and epic warfare.

Start with nothing but your bare hands and forge the legacy of your clan, building anything a small home to gigantic fortresses and entire cities. Wage war using swords, bows, siege weapons, and even take control of giant avatars of the gods and lay waste to enemy cities.

Players scramble to retrieve and throw a glowing disc while unleashing devastating abilities and defending their end zone. An exciting blend of strategy and skill, this arcade-inspired title boasts a zany roster of characters to compete with friends both on the couch and online.

DRAGON BALL FIGHTERZ

Developed by Arc System Works, a celebrated developer of 2D style fighting games; DRAGON BALL FighterZ delivers explosive graphics and over-the-top gameplay combining classic 2D fighting visuals with advanced 3D character models that look and feel as if they are ripped straight out of the DRAGON BALL anime series.

FORTNITE

EPIC GAMES

In Fortnite, players team up to build massive forts and battle against hordes of monsters, all while crafting and looting within giant worlds where no two games are ever the same. The game’s ‘Battle Royale’ PvP mode, playable at GDC 2018 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and iOS, puts 100-players on a giant map with destructible environments, where they’ll combine their Fortnite building and combat skills to be the last one standing.

LOST SOUL ASIDE

ULTIZERO GAMES

Lost Soul Aside spawned as a solo project from developer Yang Bing before gaining online attention for its gorgeous graphics and compelling gameplay, which served as the foundation for the formation of Ultizero Games and helped the title earn the right to be part of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s China Hero Project.

M.A.D 8

M.A.D 8 - a dynamic and intense new squad based action RPG where players can choose from 8 unique heroes and deploy M.A.D Gears to annihilate their enemies. Taking mobile mayhem to all-new levels, this action RPG delivers intense action, legendary heroes, and weapons wrapped in total chaos!

Polyarc invites fans around the world to experience the potential of virtual reality with Moss, an action-adventure puzzle game like no other. Players will enter a rich tale of myth and magic, joining the unlikely hero Quill on an epic journey. Crafted to maximize the transformative magic of VR, Moss allows players to reach into a dynamic world - their every action having impact.

MOTHERGUNSHIP

MOTHERGUNSHIP mixes bullet-hell intensity with the FPS genre, and promises you one of the largest gun customization options seen in video games. It's up to you to equip your over-the-top arsenal and defeat a robotic alien armada that has conquered Earth.

Craft gun monstrosities that no reasonable person could ever lift, play together with your friends, fight gigantic bosses and experience randomized mayhem as you battle your way to the heart of the fleet to destroy the MOTHERGUNSHIP!

The boy has grown up? That’s right! But he is a different boy altogether! Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm is set in another time period on the Oceanhorn timeline. The game has a new Hero, a boy who has been trained to become a Knight of Arcadia. Oceanhorn 2 is built upon the same elements that were at the heart and soul of the first Oceanhorn game: exploring a colorful world, a deep backstory with secrets and twists, amazing music, and most importantly – classic action RPG gameplay with items, puzzles, battles, and badass bosses!

PIXARK

SNAIL GAMES

In PixARK, a group of players wake up on a mysterious island, only to find themselves stranded. To survive, they must hunt, harvest, craft items, grow crops and build shelters to protect themselves from dinosaurs, natural hazards and potentially hostile human players. Using skills and the natural resources around them, players must tame or kill vicious creatures and learn to travel between worlds to uncover the mysteries that surround them.

Q.U.B.E. 2

TOXIC GAMES | PINCHED NERVE GAMES

Q.U.B.E. 2 offers a brain-teasing adventure for fans of the original Q.U.B.E. and newcomers alike. This follow-up features an all new cast of characters, putting players in the role of archaeologist Amelia Cross as she awakens in an alien world with no memory of how she got there.

RITE OF ILK

RITE of ILK is a cooperative exploration-adventure played entirely by two players, with support for both local multiplayer and online multiplayer. Between mountains fleeced with snow and swamplands sticky with muck, you will find two young Ilk bound together by a single rope as they cling to survival in a world most strange to them. Sacrificed for the sake of their people, Mokh and Tarh must combine each other's strengths to quell any weaknesses they will inevitably face if they have any hope in restoring peace with the gods. They soon discover that uncovering the past may be the only way to salvage the future.

Developer Dark Star Studios is a team composed of AAA veterans including a former Ubisoft art director, Konami senior programmer and a Blizzard technical artist. In Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption, players lead Adam, a soldier with a dark past, on a quest for redemption. Challenge monstrous embodiments of the seven deadly sins to atone for his misdeeds. Before each trial Adam must sacrifice a part of himself, resulting in a permanent debuff for the rest of his encounters. Each battle will be more difficult than the last as every debuff lowers Adam’s health, depletes his resources or weakens his weapons and armor. Fortunately, an arsenal of unlockable equipment will help Adam compensate for his increasing weaknesses.

SOULCALIBUR VI

SOULCALIBUR VI retains the long-running series’ signature 8-Way Run movement system, providing super smooth 3D movement, while integrating new gameplay systems such as the exciting Reversal Edge. Reversal Edge enables characters to clash against each other and follow-up with powerful counterattacks based on their opponent’s actions. Challenge the computer AI, compete against friends, or challenge fighters from around the world in high-speed dynamic battles with jaw-dropping visual effects.

THE BARD’S TALE IV: BARROWS DEEP

Utilizing Unreal Engine 4, The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep represents a graphical leap forward in the RPG dungeon crawler genre, immersing you in a highly detailed and lush world you'll want to map to its farthest reaches. inXile uses photogrammetry to create in-game 3D objects from photos of architecture, taken right in Scotland. With the Bard leading the way, the game has a strong focus on sound design and music, the latter inspired by and involving Gaelic musicians.

The Bard's Tale IV: Barrows Deep is built to scratch that classic dungeon crawler itch with the use of modern design principles and top of the line graphics, breathing life into this iconic series for fans old and new. As inXile CEO and series co-creator Brian Fargo notes, "When we originally created the first Bard's Tale, the visuals were such that we had to rely solely on our imagination. Seeing Bard's Tale IV: Barrows Deep in the Unreal Engine is something we could only dream about back in the day."

THE SINKING CITY

Taking place in the 1920s, The Sinking City is a game of adventure and investigation set in an open world inspired by the works of the famous American horror author H.P. Lovecraft. The player steps into the shoes of a private investigator who arrives in the city of Oakmont, Massachusetts - a city suffering from unprecedented floods of supernatural phenomena.
