Rigging in UE Control Rig Workshop

We’re making our Rigging in UE Control Rig Workshop available on the Epic Developer Community for free!

This five-day intensive online workshop is ordinarily invite-only. For a limited time, we’re making it available for anyone to participate in—giving you the opportunity to learn the art of animation rigging from a team of Epic experts.

The workshop has a clear mission: to empower riggers and technical artists with practical, production-ready skills in Unreal Engine’s Control Rig, enabling them to build flexible, animation-friendly rigs from the ground up.

What you’ll gain:
  • Hands-on mastery: We’ll guide you through building a complete biped rig, starting from simple props and finishing with facial controls.
  • Practical application: You’ll learn workflows and techniques that you can immediately apply in real production pipelines.
  • Creative exploration: You’ll have the chance to experiment with rigging systems, from procedural controls to dynamics and Python tools.

Topics covered include the basics of Unreal Engine, an introduction to animation tools, using Control Rig, skeletal editing, FK/IK and Spline set up, creating and rigging Deformers, driving blend shapes or morph target animation, and Control Rig physics basics.

The workshop is primarily aimed at mid to senior-level riggers who are transitioning to Unreal Engine’s real-time Control Rig workflow.

What’s included on the EDC

On the Epic Developer Community, you’ll find videos that will guide you through the workshop, along with course materials like slide decks and assets.

The course is built around the recently released A-COM Animation Sample, created by Agora Studio.

This sample project lifts the lid on a complete animation pipeline: from rigging and keyframe animation to lighting, visual effects, and rendering—all managed directly in UE5.

You can download the A-COM Animation Sample on Fab, and there’s a ton of learning content to help you get up and running with it on the Epic Developer Community.

Supercharge your animation rigging skills!
