Changes coming to Epic MegaGrants Submissions in 2025
Looking to apply for an Epic MegaGrant this year? We’re making an important change to the way we accept submissions.
Starting Feb 12, 2025, the MegaGrant submission portal will operate on a cycle-based schedule rather than remaining open all year round.
The new cycle-based schedule will enable us to scale our review process and increase transparency, providing you with more frequent updates on the status of your submission.
Under the new process, the portal will open for submissions twice a year.
Each cycle will have a clear timeline, including defined dates for submission, review, and when to expect the results.
Here’s how the new submission cycle works:

Cycle 1: February 12 - June 30
Submission window: February 12 - April 14
Review period: April 14 - June 6
Notices: June 16 - June 30
Cycle 2: July 14 - December 5
Submission window: July 14 - September 22
Review period: September 22 - November 24
Notices: December 1 - December 5

How to install Unreal Engine
Download the launcher
Before you can install and run Unreal Editor, you’ll need to download and install the Epic Games launcher.
Install Epic Games launcher
Once downloaded and installed, open the launcher and create or log in to your Epic Games account.
Get support, or restart your Epic Games launcher download in Step 1.
Install Unreal Engine
Once logged in, navigate to the Unreal Engine tab and click the Install button to download the most recent version.
