BROUGHT TO YOU IN CONJUNCTION WITH:

Make something Unreal

Want to learn real-time animation and virtual production workflows, create your own short film—and be in with the chance to win $50,000 AUS? Take part in the Unreal Engine Real-Time Short Film Challenge!

You don’t need to be an expert coder or technical wizard to get involved—we’ll provide two weeks’ training on filmmaking techniques in Unreal Engine completely free of charge. Plus, you can take advantage of Unreal Online Learning, our library of free learning resources.

How does it work?

Epic is working with all of Australia’s state and territory screen agencies to deliver this initiative, which is open to Australian residents only.

  • Receive two weeks of online training from Epic’s ANZ team to explore filmmaking techniques in Unreal Engine
  • Anyone can do the training, whether you’re an Australian resident or not
  • Create a pitch for a short film using the engine. The best candidates will be shortlisted and a final winner chosen for every state
  • Each state’s winning candidates will receive $20,000 AUS to develop and produce their short film
  • Finalists will have their shorts judged, with the winner taking home a grand prize of $50,000 AUS
  • Participants should apply to the challenge via their state screen agency below and in addition apply here for the free Unreal Engine training program

Why should I take part?
