EGX Rezzed partners with Epic Games to launch new promotion and exhibition space for Unreal developers

By Dean Barrett

Gamer Network, host of the UK’s biggest gaming event, has announced an exciting new partnership with Epic Games for EGX Rezzed 2017, taking place in London’s Tobacco Dock from March 30th-April 1st. Developers creating games with Epic’s Unreal Engine can take advantage of investment funding from Epic to double their exhibition space.

Under the program, the event will feature a new “Powered by Unreal Engine” zone that will showcase many notable games and experiences being built with the award-winning Unreal Engine 4. Developers who sign up on a first come first served basis to exhibit at EGX Rezzed in this new area will have their expo footprint doubled at no additional cost courtesy of Epic.

Launched in 2012, EGX Rezzed has become the UK’s foremost indie game showcase, hosting an eclectic range of titles alongside select AAA exhibitors. Attended by both the general public and representatives from all major publishers and platform holders, it has established an enviable reputation as a venue for developers to debut new and innovative games to both players and the industry at large.

“Unreal Engine is the perfect partner for EGX Rezzed,” commented Matt Styles, Event Director of EGX Rezzed. “We’re really proud of the show’s track record in helping indies find success, and working with Epic is a marvellous new way for us to highlight upcoming releases.”

“As part of our ongoing program to support Unreal developers we’re excited about this new opportunity. It will enable teams to maximise their impact at Rezzed and showcase their creative excellence to the right target audience,” commented Mike Gamble, European Territory Manager for Epic Games.

2017’s show is the biggest yet, opening the London Games Festival with a keynote speech given by Irrational Games’ Ken Levine, who is best known for the Unreal-powered BioShock blockbuster franchise.

Tickets for EGX Rezzed 2017 are on sale now and can be purchased from egx.net/rezzed. Developers wishing to exhibit can apply through the website or contact [email protected].
