You’ve heard us say it before, and you’ll hear us say it again: real-time skills are one of the most valuable assets in the 3D world today, because they unlock so many doors.
Industry after industry is either looking for or hiring real-time artists and developers to help them expand, tighten up, or experiment with their visual offerings. Lucky for them, 3D artists have been learning these skills any way they can—in schools, workshops, or the Epic Developer Community, which has over 200+ hours of video courses (at last count).
But since life is an evolving thing, we’re still dreaming up new ways to crack topics, so students and educators can run instead of walk. On February 13-17, both groups will get a week just for them, filled with new live Q&As, learning materials, and Spotlights that demonstrate how others are finding success.
In terms of one-off events, we’ll be hosting a Tech Tip Tuesday on February 14 at 5:00 PM EST, where we’ll do a live walkthrough of one of the most fun Unreal Learning Kits ever, all centered around how to make a Rube Goldberg machine. This is going down in the Educator Discord, so if you haven’t signed up yet, please do.
On Wednesday, February 15 at 12:00 PM EST, we’ll also be hosting the Ask Unreal Anything: Education Editionon the Epic Dev Community. Ask Unreal Anything is our AMA-style series that gives you access to some of the wonderful devs behind Unreal Engine. So if you have any questions on features, development guidance, career advice, or anything else, write them down. You’ll get your chance!
Also, be sure to bookmark this page, as we’ll be bringing you stories on:
Moving from school to that first job
A festival that is showing students just how far you can push a game dev degree
A new training ground for inclusive design
It’s going to be a great week. Hope to see you there!
