Weekly Twitch Recap

By Chance Ivey

General Manager Ray Davis and Community Manager Chance Ivey lead the stream this week to provide some really awesome news in the Unreal Engine universe. You may recall that we put out a call for submissions for the opportunity to demo alongside Unreal Engine in our booth this GDC, and we’re happy to announce our selections for this years lineup! You’ll find out more about each excellent project in the video. Also, we’re bringing out a number our top community members to GDC with us! Come by and say hello.

The February #ue4jam was kicked off with a fitting theme of “Love is a Battlefield”. Check out the submission thread, and tune back in on Feb. 26th for the announcement of the winners!

Returning with an incredible outdoor scene built with Unreal Engine 4 and SpeedTree, Koola impresses once again. Complete with an excellent time-of-day shift, the visuals are some of the best we’ve seen. Watch the video and check out these high resolution photos. And, as always, drop a note to Koola on the forums

June by Taylor Loper

June is still early in its development cycle, however, Taylor has worked some really interesting and thought-provoking features into the game, including the 3d world map with visual objective indicators (pictured above). Check out his WIP video, and follow the progress on his forum thread.

Whitewash by Bruno Xavier

We’ve seen some sample screens from Whitewash in the past, and Bruno has finally decided to share more of his project with us. A first person experience set in space, Whitewash has some really cool player abilities. Check out the high-quality environments in this video, and see Bruno’s feature playground here, where he outlines all of the cool things players will do in Whitewash.
