Blueprint is Unreal Engine’s visual scripting system that you can use to create anything from simple interactive or animated Actors all the way up to fully functioning games and simulations without writing a single line of code.
In this presentation, we’ll look at some commonly needed interactive elements used in non-games workflows, and how to achieve each of those using Blueprints. First, we’ll take a look at the basic Blueprint workflow and discuss its pros and cons. After that, we’ll create a series of interactions that should come in handy for most projects, including interactive Actors, animations, and informational and functional UI elements.
You’ll learn about:
The fundamental Blueprint workflow principles
Interactive elements such as multi-floor elevators and doors
Animations such as spline path animated characters
The Variant Manager system along with UI elements
Metadata for informational UI elements
Blueprints for custom UI menu screens
