The kids are alright, and they’re making flying space ducks, otter spirits, and giant squids. Yes, real-time creativity knows no bounds, so let’s celebrate it!
Once a year, we host our favorite non-professional projects in a pretty reel we call the Student Showcase. Any university student is welcome to submit, and lots did. In fact, we received submissions from over 90 schools and 38 countries this time ‘round, ranging from published games and short films to advertisements and animation.
We tell the students you never know who’s watching, because it’s true. Thousands of people watch these things, so if you’re an employer, developer, VFX supervisor, or producer, make extra sure you give this a click. Superstars go fast and this is a free scouting report.
To anyone else looking to improve their real-time skills, or maybe wondering how to break into the industry, check out our Creator’s Field Guide. It’s a roadmap for students, administrators, educators, and job seekers that explores all the entry-level Unreal Engine skills someone needs to know when they are first starting out.
Ready to get started with the Unreal Engine ecosystem? Check out our Real-Time Explainers, a constantly expanding resource that aims to shine some light on a range of topics relating to real-time technology!
