Ray Tracing for Architectural Visualization: Webinar Replay
In this webinar, Buildmedia showed an interactive application to visualize and sell apartments before they are built. The project uses real-time ray tracing technology for the most realistic representation possible.
Unreal Engine 4.22 is the first real-time renderer to include ray-tracing technology as part of its toolset. When used with the NVIDIA RTX™ technology, Unreal Engine can produce real-time ray-traced transparency, soft shadows, reflections, and other lighting phenomena that previously could be produced only with raster methods in real time. Since the release of UE 4.22 we’ve seen the first real-time ray-traced projects rolling off the pipeline, including this exciting work from Buildmedia.
To kick off the webinar, Daryl Obert, Design Specialist at Epic Games, gave a brief introduction to hybrid RTX ray tracing with Unreal Engine. George Matos of NVIDIA was also on hand to introduce the NVIDIA Quadro® RTX™ GPUs and answer questions.
You’ll learn about:
- Setting up an Unreal Engine scene for ray tracing
- Using the Unreal Editor to toggle and test ray tracing scenarios
- Optimizing ray tracing features for real-time rendering
- Choosing the right NVIDIA Quadro RTX GPU for your needs
