Kamcord Joins Unreal Engine 3 Integrated Partner Program

By Unreal Engine

Unreal Engine developers can now ship mobile games with popular features for seamlessly recording and sharing gameplay videos

SAN FRANCISCO and CARY, N.C. – Kamcord Inc. and Epic Games, Inc. announced today that Kamcord has joined the Unreal Engine 3 Integrated Partners Program (IPP). The incorporation of Kamcord enables Unreal Engine licensees to expose gameplay recording and sharing to their users. Kamcord is the newest member of Epic’s unparalleled Unreal Engine IPP.

Kamcord brings value to games in the competitive mobile marketplace with community-centric features that increase player engagement and retention, enhance organic discoverability and promote downloads.

Kamcord captures gameplay as it takes place on the screen of mobile devices. With Kamcord implemented in their games, developers empower players to record, replay, and share in-game experiences via email, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.

In addition, players can view all user-created videos for any Kamcord-equipped game they’re enjoying without ever leaving the app. Research shows that users who interact with Kamcord video sharing or viewing have a 2x higher retention rate than non-Kamcord users. Since Kamcord released the first mobile gameplay recording solution, users have recorded more than 2 billion videos and uploaded more than 2 million videos.

Impressed by these results, Black Wing Foundation, an exclusive Unreal Engine studio, integrated Kamcord into their game, “Monster 500.” CEO Aleksey Savchenko explained, “We were really excited to integrate Kamcord into ‘Monster 500.’ Given how hard we worked to craft the gameplay mechanics and visuals, it is particularly rewarding for us to see our players sharing videos from the game with their friends.”

From the Unreal Engine team’s perspective, Kamcord’s gameplay recording software allows them to introduce a concept to mobile that has become wildly popular for many PC and console games built with their engine. Tim Sweeney, Epic’s founder and CEO, remarked, “The Kamcord integration with Unreal Engine 3 provides awesome real-time video recording and social sharing functionality that developers can drop into their mobile games for added appeal.  We’re proud that Kamcord has joined Epic’s Integrated Partners Program to bring their technology to Unreal Engine developers as seamlessly as possible.”

Summarizing Kamcord’s feelings on the new partnership, CEO Matt Zitzmann remarked, “We’re thrilled to be joining the Unreal Engine 3 Integrated Partners Program. Games built with the Unreal Engine are some of the most visually stunning, so we’re eager to see what users share. It’s truly an honor to work with Epic given their role in shaping the gaming industry.”
