Free Control Rig and Mannequin asset packs now available for real-time animators

Are you ready to sharpen your Unreal Engine animation skills? We got two new asset packs available for free, so there’s no better time to get started bringing your UE5 projects to life.

For new animators, this is a great place to get first-hand experience with procedural and real-time animation in Unreal Engine. More experienced creators can use the characters inside Control Rig Samples to go hands-on with pre-rigged assets and better understand the innovative new features added to UE5’s rigging tools.
 

This toolset is widely used by teams at Epic Games on games such as Fortnite and The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience, so you might have seen it in action without even knowing it. The Control Rig Samples pack includes:
  • Cardee: A helpful cardboard box that shows you how to create an intuitive, pivot-switching Control Rig.
  • Mue5: This towering mech demonstrates how to build a procedural rig.
  • Bungeeman: Powered by elasticity, this model has unique squash and stretch features that are perfect for cartoon rigging.
  • Mannequin: Bonus assets useful for animating bipedal character rigs.
The Mannequins pack features assets that are fully rigged and ready to animate in Sequencer, making it easy to drop them into your latest Unreal Engine 5 project. 
 

Once you’ve downloaded both packs, be sure to take advantage of some fantastic resources to kick off a lifelong journey of Unreal Engine animation, starting with Fredrik Nilsson’s Unreal Fest talk.
