Exploring modular game features in Unreal Engine 5

July 30, 2021
Over the past few months, we’ve been exploring Unreal Engine 5 Early Access through a series of in-depth presentations relating to the key features on Inside Unreal — our official weekly livestream.

In our final episode of this series, Senior Engine Programmer Mike Beach and Lead Engine Programmer Michael Noland were joined by Product Specialist Victor Brodin as they explored the Game Features plugin and the Modular Gameplay plugin. The plugins provide a framework to help developers create standalone features for their projects. As discussed during the livestream, building with these plugins keeps your project’s codebase clean and readable, and avoids accidental interactions or dependencies.

If you’ve missed previous episodes of our livestream series as we’ve explored Unreal Engine 5 Early Access, feel free to get caught up through the links below. We also encourage you to jump into the forums for further discussion and join us on our Twitch or YouTube channels for future episodes of Inside Unreal as we explore all things Unreal Engine.
