Halo: Campaign Evolved brings the legendary franchise into a new era with UE5
As the name suggests, Halo: Campaign Evolved is a faithful yet modernized remake of the legendary Halo: Combat Evolved campaign that’s been rebuilt from the ground up for today's hardware.
The game, which is the first in the franchise to be built using Unreal Engine 5, enables both veterans of the storied franchise and newcomers alike to experience where it all began with high-definition visuals, refined controls, updated cinematics, and three new bonus missions—all while making it possible for players to connect in a variety of ways, including two-player split-screen co-op (console only) or in up to four-player online co-op with full crossplay and cross-progression support.
Of course, delivering on the lofty expectations associated with such an effort is no easy task, but the veterans at Halo Studios, equipped with the power of UE5, were more than capable of rising to the challenge. So, which Unreal Engine 5 features stood out to the team most during development and, as Halo: Campaign Evolved helps to celebrate 25 years of the Halo franchise, what does the team hope this project will be remembered for in the future?
