Unreal Futures is a new learning series that provides a clear pathway to exciting interactive 3D careers across a variety of different industries.

In Unreal Futures: Careers in Advertising, we’ll provide you with the tools to understand where the advertising industry is heading and how to create your first 3D advertisement in Unreal Engine, using real-time technology.

What is 3D advertising and how do I get started?

For years, global brands have incurred huge costs—both in time as well as money—swapping out packaging for a particular ad film.

On live-action shoots, they have to shoot each element of the ad—packages, products, and environments—multiple times for the same script in order to cater to the varieties of SKU differentiations that exist.

For example, if an advert needs to run in a new country with localized packaging, or a brand-new flavor needs to be marketed, the production crew has to set up the shoot again and re-shoot with the new product.

Now, photorealistic real-time technology makes it possible to transform product packaging in an instant, as if by waving a magic wand. Seamless, resource-efficient, and highly cost-effective, this will be the way product advertising is created in the future. 
Unreal Futures is a new learning series that provides a clear pathway to interactive 3D careers in different industries.

In Unreal Futures: Careers in Advertising, you’ll see how global creative partner MediaMonks teams up with OreoTM to innovate and disrupt advertising production. Next, you'll create your own cookie commercial, swapping out product packaging, adjusting lighting and camera animation to create a realistic-looking TV ad—and a great real-time 3D portfolio piece.

Available entirely for free, the full lesson includes:
