Happy Wednesday, everyone! Time for more great Marketplace content. We've got amazing weather effects, pyro flames and explosions, a menu system, an advanced RTS camera, hand-to-hand combat sound effects, post apocalyptic weapon sounds, PBR nature materials, and more! This is a great release, so come on in and check it out!
Materials and FX:
Weather any storm with the SuperGenius Weather FX! This pack contains 6 high-quality, fully customizable weather particle systems of varying degrees of intensity, such as Rain (light and heavy), Snow (light and blizzard), Hail, Lightning, Vabor clouds, and Thick fog (with mist effects). This contains 15 materials (17 material instances), 19 textures and 4 mesh-required dependencies, and one overview map with all effects placed. This really is amazing and I highly recommend watching the video!
They say that where there's smoke, there's fire, and if you're lucky, explosions too! Fortunately this is a trifecta. This is a pack of over 24 high quality simulated flame, smoke, and explosion textures featuring custom materials, material instances, and sample emitters. Using UE4's built-in tools, you can scale down the size of teh textures to conform to your platform of choice. Even though the pack is titled 'pyro,' it can also be extended to cover categories such as magic, explosions, general ambience, and more. Check out the video!
Does your game have planets? Give them an extra visual pop witih a physically-accurate planetary atmosphere, viewable from space and the planet surface! This supports real-world phenomena such as scattering and absorption of sunlight, both Rayleigh and Mie scattering, transparency support so other celestial bodies can be viewed through the atmosphere, and more. You can either use the existing sample materials included, modify them, or build your own materials using a highly modular set of material functions. This contains an example Blueprint to allow you to modify atmospheric parameters on the fly. Give your planets' denizens an atmosphere today -- they'll appreciate it! Check out the video!
Keep it natural with Yughues' Nature Materials! This is 81 various PBR nature-related materials including vegetation, rock, water, wood, and more. Texture resolution is 1024x1024. Be sure to check out the rest of Yughues' materials on the Marketplace as well!
This is a collection of easy-to-follow Blueprint classes and functions for implementing a robust enemy targeting system. It gives your players a "doesn't miss" option to use with powerful spells and abilities that require a target or long cast times, cycle through enemies, set the radius of selection, highlighting the targeted enemy, and more.
This is impressive! If your game needs a menu system, look at this. This is focused to people who need to learn and start a clean project in UE4 to work from the very beginning, starting with splash screens, entry screen, main screen, and pause menu, in all cases adding persistent popups. You can see in this template how the macro flow of the game works to help it all tie together. It also features tooltips for any button, text, slider, or other widget onscreen.
Are you working on an RTS? Need an advanced camera? Then definitely watch the video for this. The camera moves on a spheroid so you can have a normal top down view when zoomed out, and an immersive slight side view when zoomed in. It features step by step zooming, movement in any direction, rotation, attachment/detachment from objects to follow, edge scrolling, PC control support, game controller support, 1-2-3 finger support for mobile devices, a useful macro library, a virtual simulatable platform, module-based design to give you clarity of all assets, and it's all contained within one Blueprint for easy adjustment.Check out the video!
Weapons & Props:
What's more fun than delivering a vicious beatdown with your own bare hands? Doing it with a weapon! Enter the Melee Weapons Pack, a set of eight photorealistic melee weapons to dish out as much pain as you can imagine. This includes sounds like bones breaking, crunches, body hits, blocks, kicks, punches, face punches, and grapples, as well as multiple swooping sound effects for incoming or missing punches and kicks.
