Apple iOS

Since the release of the Infinity Blade series, Unreal Engine 3 has emerged as the premier solution for iOS. Support includes iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, third-generation and fourth-generation iPod touch, iPad, iPad 2, and New iPad. Learn more about mobile support on Unreal Engine.

Windows

Unreal Engine 3 is scalable in the creation of PC games, from simple, downloadable experiences to next-generation, DirectX 11 content as showcased in the real-time Samaritan demo. UE3 games for the PC include Blacklight: Retribution, Mass Effect 3, and DC Universe Online. Highly anticipated UE3 games include TERA Online, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Blade & Soul, and Marvel Heroes. Epic also recently unveiled its newest game, Fortnite, which is being developed with Unreal Engine 4 technology for PC.

Adobe Flash

We worked closely with Adobe to make this technology available to developers. The addition of Flash enables us to deliver the same triple-A quality to developers that Epic and our licensees use in blockbuster games. Check out Epic Citadel, a simple UE3 environment running inside Flash.

Google Android

Commercial support for Unreal Engine 3 on Android has been used to ship the title Dungeon Defenders, the first game ever certified for Honeycomb, Google’s 3.0 tablet version of Android. Learn more about mobile support on Unreal Engine.

Microsoft Xbox 360

Unreal Engine 3 powers a number of the world’s the most celebrated Xbox 360 games including Mass Effect 3, Batman: Arkham City, and Gears of War 3. Highly anticipated UE3-powered games for the platform include Borderlands 2, BioShock Infinite, and Dishonored.

Mac OS

Renewing our long standing support for the Mac platform, Unreal Engine 3 now supports Mac OS, available both to licensees and in the UDK.

Sony PlayStation 3

Unreal Engine 3 powers more than 50 titles that have shipped for PlayStation 3, making it one of the most successful engines on the platform. Critically acclaimed UE3-powered PS3 games include Mortal Kombat, Mass Effect 3, and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. Highly anticipated UE3-powered PS3 games include Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, Dishonored, and BioShock Infinite.

Sony PlayStation®Vita

Unreal Engine 3 was the first ever middleware to be demonstrated on Sony’s next generation portable, the PlayStation®Vita. In addition, Epic demonstrated a licensee’s fully playable game onstage at the press conference where the platform was revealed. Notable UE3-powered games include Mortal Kombat, and Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock.

Nintendo Wii U

Unreal Engine 3 operates on Nintendo’s new Wii U platform. Highly anticipated Wii U games developed with Unreal Engine 3 include Mass Effect 3, Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition, and Aliens: Colonial Marines.
